TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. It measures the ability of non-native English speakers to use listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills and is one of the most authoritative and recognized English tests in the world. It's one.

Most people who take the TOEFL plan to attend universities where English is the language of instruction. However, the test is not used by immigration authorities to issue residence and work visas, or by medical and licensing agencies for professional certification, except for individuals who simply want to assess their understanding and proficiency in the English language. I am using it for my purpose.

For students planning to study abroad, the TOEFL can help prove that they have the English skills that are actually needed in college classrooms. Test Format

Because the TOEFL is administered online, it is called the TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test). The test lasts 4.5 hours and consists of a variety of reading, listening, speaking, and writing tasks. During the test, the student is expected to demonstrate the ability to combine all four of her skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). For example, students may be asked to:

  • Read, Listen, Answer, and Write
  • Read, Listen, Answer, and Speak
  • Listen, Answer, and Speak
  • TOEFL iBT Score Scale

TOEFL 4 Sections (Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing) are each rated up to a maximum of 30 points. A composite (or total) TOEFL score ranges from 0 to 120 and is calculated by combining her TOEFL scores for each of the four sections.
